About the Author

Teresa Robyn Davis Blackwood

known affectionately as Tere, Miss Terri, or "Granchu"

Born in Tennessee, Granchu draws the inspiration for these stories from her childhood years in southwest Georgia. As the oldest of six very close sisters, she has a rich family history of her own.

She has been married to Chris Blackwood — known as Papaw — since 1970, and together they have four children: Todd, Robyn, April, and Melanie.

As each grandchild's personality began to show, a character was formed to match them. What started as bedtime stories became a world — the Isle of Why — where every grandchild lives as their own magical character.
