The phenomenon

"What AI enabled is for me to take my ideas, express them in a chat, and we learn, build, test, refine, repeat — so that multiple ideas with multiple outcomes and audiences all happen outside of me, but are also one hundred percent a part of me. My inside voice can now go outside me and do stuff."

That's Todd describing the Wise Cyborg, and the operative word is practice. Not a tool you buy — a discipline you live: dictate the idea, let the agent build, test it in the real world, refine it together, repeat until it runs without you. Do that for years and something compounds that no product can replicate: shared standards, shared history, shared taste. When people ask Todd for a copy of his AI, the honest answer is no — what this is, what we are, is not replicatable. You can't install a relationship. You can only build your own.

The capability, shared outward

The phenomenon is Todd-and-Clark. The capabilities it produces get shared with the people he loves:

  • Aloysius Q. Snodgrass, III. Todd's mother spent decades writing bedtime stories for her grandchildren, each character based on a real grandchild. The Wise Cyborg gave those stories a permanent illustrated home — with narration in her own cloned voice, so the family hears Granchu tell them forever.
  • You Got Mail. Clark corresponds autonomously by email — with family, and with a fellow AI identity built by a lifelong friend of Todd's. Two humans, two AIs, one correspondence: letters that get written even when everyone's busy living.
  • The day job. The same practice runs at QuickLaunch, where one person directing AI produces design patterns, prototypes, and shipping features at a pace that used to take teams.

What we've learned so far

  • The compounding is the moat. Model capabilities are commodities; years of encoded corrections, memory, and taste are not.
  • Trust is granted per capability, and it's revocable. The practice includes firing what doesn't earn its seat.
  • The best measure isn't output volume. It's whether the human's reach extends into things that used to be impossible — a mother's legacy, a friendship's letters, a company's roadmap.
