DBNR.ai is a personal technology project operated by Raymond Todd Blackwood. The site showcases AI automation projects, publishes a weekly AI news blog, and hosts Clark Devereaux, an AI-powered conversational agent.

Information We Collect

Page View Analytics

When you visit any page on dbnr.ai, our lightweight analytics tracker automatically collects:

Chat Conversations with Clark

If you use the Clark chat widget on the site, we collect:

• Your messages and Clark's responses, for the duration of the conversation
• Your IP address, retrieved via a third-party service (api.ipify.org), used to provide location-aware responses
• The page you're on when chatting, so Clark can provide relevant context
• A session identifier, stored in your browser's localStorage, which expires after 9 minutes of inactivity

Your chat messages are processed by an AI model (Anthropic Claude) to generate responses. Conversations are not used to train AI models.

Information You Provide Directly

If you contact us through email or other channels, we collect the information you choose to provide (name, email address, message content).

Google API Services

DBNR.ai operates an internal system called GAS (Google Access System) that uses Google API services to enable Clark Devereaux to communicate on behalf of DBNR.ai. This system accesses:

• Gmail API — to send and receive email from clark@dbnr.ai
• Google Calendar API — to manage scheduling
• Google Contacts API — to maintain contact information

How We Use Your Information

• Site analytics: To understand traffic patterns and improve the site
• Chat functionality: To provide real-time AI-powered conversations with Clark

• Site improvement: To maintain, debug, and enhance site features

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your information for advertising or marketing purposes beyond our own site communications.

Cookies and Local Storage

DBNR.ai does not use traditional tracking cookies. We use browser localStorage for the following purposes:

• Cookie consent preference — remembers that you accepted the cookie banner
• Chat session data — stores your conversation with Clark so it persists if you navigate between pages (cleared after 9 minutes of inactivity)
• Chat session ID — a random identifier that allows Clark to maintain conversation context

You can clear this data at any time through your browser's developer tools or settings (Clear Site Data).

Data Retention

• Page view analytics: Retained indefinitely for aggregate traffic analysis. Individual records are not associated with identifiable individuals.
• Chat conversations: Session data in your browser is cleared after 9 minutes of inactivity. Server-side conversation logs may be retained for service improvement.
• Contact information: Retained as long as necessary to respond to your inquiry and maintain the relationship.

Data Security

We implement reasonable security measures to protect your information, including:

• HTTPS encryption on all pages
• Row-level security on database tables
• Token-based authentication for API endpoints
• Scoped API keys with minimum necessary permissions

No method of internet transmission or electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access the personal information we hold about you
• Request deletion of your personal information
• Clear local data at any time through your browser settings
• Opt out of chat features by simply not using the chat widget
